Three AMAZING Things Thursday

Last week was a BIG week in the life of this little blog (and it’s writer)- wait, why and I talking about myself in the 3rd person.  I’ve hinted and tweeted about some of these things, but I’ll summarize here:

1.  I’m part of the flock!  While sitting at a brewfest with some friends on Saturday, I see the following tweet come through:
oiselle team tweet   Wait- that’s me-WOW—on Oiselle Team!  So unbelievably excited and honored to be part of such an amazing group of women representing an awesome apparel company.  Of course my twitter chose that moment to have a major freak out and not let me respond/post so to those who replied/congratulated me—THANK YOU!  If you haven’t tried Oiselle yet, do it now!  You won’t be disappointed (and no, I don’t get paid to say that, I truly believe it!).  I waited to post this until my bio was on the website- I think I was still in shock.

2.  In addition to representing my favorite brand, I was privileged to be named a San Francisco Marathon Ambassador for 2012-2013!  SFM (1st 1/2) was my first “race” back from my January injury.  I ran it for fun and simply fell in love with the race, city and fellow runners out on the course.  Yes, SF is hilly.  Yes, TX is flat.  Since I wasn’t “racing it,” I never felt the hills but crossing the Golden Gate bridge (twice) would have been totally Worth The Hurt!  Next year’s SFM is June 16, 2013 so mark your calendars and plan to join me and my fellow ambassadors as we spread some run love throughout SF!

3.  I’m racing this weekend.  Why is this “amazing”?  Well, I’ve been reminded several times recently that my ability to toe the line at a race is a blessing and therefore I consider it amazing!  I thought my injury gave me some perspective, and while it did, it’s nothing compared to the perspective I got when learning about Monika’s tumor.  So this weekend, I’ll run my “Miles for Mokie”- and remind myself when I’m cursing my pacer, that a few miles of pain is nothing.  In fact, I’m privileged to be out there.  Perspective, people.

Happy Thursday peeps- oh and humidity?  Please exit stage left before Sunday morning.

    • thanks, Laura!! Kudos to you for kicking butt even IN the heat/humidity!! the good thing about bad races is that they make you reassess and figure out what changes need to happen to reach your goals. at least that’s what i’m trying to do! 🙂 great to see you!

  5. Terzah says:
